Description:Loc Performance Products; Michigan's premiere full service manufacturer of large CNC machined components and assemblies for military and commercial applications.

Loc Performance is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated CNC Gear Setup Operator to join our Production department!

The CNC Gear Setup Operator sets up and operates precision gear grinding machine with special indexing equipment to grind master and precision gears.

Duties:Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Reads and interprets blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, layout, job order and related technical data for product specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, and number of parts to be ground, and tooling instructions such as grinding speeds, feed rates, holding fixtures, depth of cut and grinding wheel to be used while determining setup procedures, control settings, material requirements, machining methods, grinding operations and sequence of operations.

Computes machine indexing ratios and cam dimensions for specified spacing and contour of gear teeth.

Selects index plate, cams, grinding wheel, feed rates, grinding speed, and depth of cut.

Positions and secures index plate, cams, and grinding wheel in machine.

Sets up automatic dressing device to dress wheel to specified profile.

Moves controls to set synchronized rotation speeds and feed rates.

Positions and secures work piece on mandrel between centers or in chuck, and turns hand wheels to position work piece and wheel, verifying positions with thickness gauges, dial indicators, and micrometers.

Turns valve handle and directs flow of coolant against wheel and work piece.

Moves controls to index work piece and feed wheel to work piece, adjusting depth of cut in part by sight and feel.

Verifies dimensions of ground work piece for conformance to specifications.

Grinds metallic materials.

Education and/or Experience
High school or G.E.D. equivalent, and five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
