The Plant Network Administrator Takes direction from IT Director. Lead administrator responsible for the maintaining the facility infrastructure. Supervises IT team in accordance with the organization�s policies and applicable laws. Trains employees, plans, assigns, and directs work; addresses complaints and resolves problems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned
- Designs, specifies, configures, installs, and maintains local area network hardware, software, and telecommunications services such as personal computers, system software, software applications, printers, servers, routers, bridges, switches, modems, cabling, and Internet service providers.
-Enforces policies and procedures related to network hardware and software acquisition, use, support, security, and backup.
-Establishes and maintains network users, user environment, directories, and security.
-Trains users on software and equipment usage.
-Responds to the needs and questions of network users concerning their access to resources on the network and the operation of various software programs.
-Communicates with other departments to report and resolve software, hardware, and operations problems.
-Consults with department managers to develop system solutions consistent with organizational objectives.
-Installs and tests software upgrades.
-Collects and analyzes network and memory utilization.
-Implements disaster recovery procedures.
-Assembles and configures network components and associated services (i.e. backup, security management, user account management, e-mail systems including e-mail, web server, internet access, office systems and applications support, etc.).
-Sets up and maintains basic network operations (i.e. file servers, mail server, Ethernet networks, network cabling, etc.), including assembly of network hardware and other related equipment, devices and systems.
-Performs network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems.
-Upgrades network hardware and software components as required.
-Installs, upgrades and configures network security (i.e. firewalls, managing host security, file permissions, back and disaster recovery plans and file system integrity, etc.).
-Provides users with network technical support.
-Maintains confidentiality with regard to information being processed, stored or accessed by the network.
-Installs and tests necessary software and hardware.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
